This is our second kitty door and they are wonderful. We’ve been able to hide away the kitty boxes. It’s something I wish we bought years ago. Thank you Kitty Door!
clever idea. Works, but needs a little diy know how. First thing I found is that if your saw kerf is thinner than the hinge you will need to adjust the size of your door "triangle", otherwise it will sit proud of the door when you have it in the closed position. Also your door needs 1/2" or more reveal at the bottom or the kitty korner kan't close. With these adjustments it looks good and works well when installed.
Fabulous kitty cat door. Swiftly installed. My 3 cats, ages 16 year old & 2 three years old, quickly began going-through it. we no longer have to open the basement door for the cats. It also keeps our dog from getting into cat food and litter boxes. I highly recommend the kittykorner door.
This is the solution I needed! It let's me close my door to the light from my grandsons bedroom as well as cuts down on the noise (he's only 5). The cats use it easily and there is no more scratching at my door 50 times an hour to come in, go out, come in, go out,well, you understand, you have cats!
The Kitty Korner was easy to install, looks great, and finally allows me to keep my basement door- where I keep the litter boxes- closed! My kitties seem to think going through the little corner cutout is a fun adventure :)
I've purchased three of these over the years for various doors in the house and they've always been perfect to allow cats through with the door closed and also great for closing off areas temporarily. Customer service has been great!
It works the way it is supposed to and the template and instructions make it easy to install. The cat figured it out right away.
Installed the Kitty Corner a few weeks ago - what a fantastic creation! The directions and videos on the website were clear and easy to follow. I ended up having to re-drill the holes on the “flap” portion one additional time, the first time I did it the flap ended up not being centered correctly and it stuck out just a bit along the vertical edge of the door.
This has been a huge upgrade for both my cat and my quality of life. I can sleep with my door closed for privacy and fire safety, and she can come and go as she pleases!
This product works as intended. It's very straightforward to install and requires few tools. However, the metal used is incredibly thin and flimsy. This means the hinge wobbles during the folding and unfolding process, and the part shakes slightly when the door moves. I believe the materials used should be thicker, more robust.
We appreciate the constructive feedback. Our steel choice is to some degree a compromise between the thickness of the steel - which impacts the width of the gap you see when the Flap is closed - and the overall sturdiness of the mechanism. We also have found that at least some of the stability is impacted by each doors interior framing make up, some have more dense woods and some have less.
Really cool creation, no cat flap noise! Hides litter boxes and keeps dogs away too.
Kitty Korner definitely does what it says, and looks great in our home! I will add that the build is a little flimsy for a solid core (interior) door, struggling to be able to firmly hold the open position, though the hook & loop sticker helps.

I like it a lot better than a regular cat door. But, it would be better if the hinge was a little longer so that the opening was taller. That way my cat would fit through a little easier.
My son has one these and he loves it, so I bought one and I too love it. The installation was fairly easy. The prep to ensure a straight cut took the most amount of time, but is important. We have two large cats and even though the recommendation was not to cut the corner bigger than the hinge, I did. It only left about an inch and half of wood beyond the ends of the hinge and it works just fine. I also have a solid core door so there was ample wood to **** it into.
We were looking for options that would allow our cats to access their litter box that is located in the laundry room while being able to close the laundry room door. I looked at some other options that looked way too cutesy for our taste. Our cats learned to go through the notch in the doorway without having to be shown. I use power tools relatively frequently, so installation wasn't difficult. The instructions and template were easy to follow. I used my circular saw guide to make a clean cut. I would recommend putting painters tape along the cut line on both sides of the door and support the bottom of the door when cutting to avoid any tear out.
Purrfect solution to my problem. I work from home and often close my door while on calls so as not to disturb others. Without fail it is at this time that kitty decides it’s time to leave the room, and now she can without me needing to step out of frame to open the door.
Kittykorner was quick to install and works as expected.
Works great - my cat has a place for her food and box that the dog can't enjoy. Instructions on selecting the write model and cutting/installing we're good.
Installed on hollow core door, when the cat portion is folded down hinge seems to hold it at a slight angle. Will investigate at later date,maybe have to add a wood filler piece in hollow portion of door. Was only able to install screws at ends on hinge.
This cat door was easy to install (under 2 hours from start to finish including prep and clean-up), and my cat (who is 12 lbs) had no trouble using it. The locking hinge is a very clever design, but there needs to be one slotted hole for aligning it. If your holes are off even slightly, the door-jam edge of the triangular door can protrude into the jam, preventing you from closing the door when the triangular door is closed. It took multiple attempts to get that edge perfectly aligned. A simple slotted hole would allow you to clamp the triangular door into the perfect position before drilling holes and inserting the remaining screws. Otherwise, I would give it five stars!
Great product with a clean look. The instructions lack a bit of detail to make sure things line up nicely, but with some trial and error you get a really nice cat door.
I have installed both kitty korners and my cats are roaming freely.
This cat door is great! I love the simplicity of the design and my husband was able to follow the instructions and instructive video well (I would not have been able to ad not as handy of a person), and our cat is very excited to have access to his new room!
