Real Customers, Real Cats: How the Kitty Korner Door Changed Our Home
Share
When we invented the Kitty Korner door, we knew it was a clever solution to a common
problem. But we had no idea just how much of an impact it would have on the daily lives of
our customers. Every week, we read the reviews that come in, and we are constantly blown away by the creative ways you are using our product to bring peace and harmony to your homes. Today, we want to spotlight a few of our favorite real-world stories from actual Kitty Korner customers.
(Reviews have been lightly edited for length and clarity.)
The "Finally, Privacy!" Story From Amiel E.:
"The cats love that they can go in and out of our room at night — even if
there are guests in the house. We used to have to keep the door fully open when guests
came because the cats like to roam at night and intermittently sleep with us. This fixed our
privacy issue with guests while also giving the cats the freedom they wanted."
This is the classic Kitty Korner use case! Nobody wants to sleep with their bedroom door
wide open when houseguests are visiting. The Kitty Korner gives you your privacy back
without locking the cat out.
The "Big Cat, No Problem" Story From Anonymous:
"We have two large cats and even though the recommendation was not
to cut the corner bigger than the hinge, I did. It only left about an inch and a half of wood
beyond the ends of the hinge and it works just fine. I also have a solid core door so there
was ample wood to screw it into." We frequently get asked if "big-boned" cats can fit through the door. The answer is yes! While we recommend following the standard cut lines, handy customers with solid core doors can easily adjust the angle slightly to accommodate larger feline friends.
The "Creative Adaptation" Story From Joyce:
"We actually adapted this kit to fit a metal French door which leads from our
bedroom to the glassed-in sunroom area. Now we can lock that door and the cats can still
access their litter box and feeding station! Even our 18 lb cat has no problem walking
through it." We absolutely love this! While the Kitty Korner is designed for standard wooden interior doors, Joyce proved that with a little DIY ingenuity, it can be adapted for all sorts of amazing spaces. Shoutout to that 18 lb cat for navigating it like a pro!
The "Instant Understanding" Story From Josh D.:
"My cats love the Kitty Korner! It was such an easy install too. I love that it's
such a simple concept. The cats knew immediately what to do... I love that it locks in place
when in either position. So much easier than a cat door!"
This is why we don't use plastic flaps. Cats don't need to be trained to walk through an
open corner. They just get it.
